I came here on the 16th for a tour and had an amazing time!! It was cool to see all of the floats up close and learn about the history of the parade. I felt like a child again, so mesmerized by everything 🥰🤩 Hope to come back again in the future! …
Easy parking. Kind staff and volunteers. It was a wonderful experience seeing the floats up close and learning about their history. What a gem of a nonprofit!
Don't know much about it to review but really neat to see the parade floats. Just dropped off DGPA/Penske Showcar.
We toured the parade company with our girl scout troop and their families. I had never been to it before so the drive in felt a little more industrial than I expected but they had new asphalt and it was fine. Then figuring out how to get in took a second. The girl in security booth wasn't visible so we drove around the parking twice trying to figure it out. Lol but once we saw her she opened the gate and we were in. Everyone inside was super friendly and kind. Our tour guide had a ton of knowledge and showed is so much stuff. Every time we passed someone working they would stop and have a chat with us. They allowed for the children to ask questions. Over all it was a great experience. Or older girls can't wait to be old enough to volunteer and go down there and paint floats! Lol
This place needs some help and is falling apart but they are moving soon so no need to comment to much there. The volunteers were awesome we went with my daughters girl scout group. they all got a patch and a chance to see the new floats. It was pretty cool much larger then I thought. Surprised there is not more people supporting this massive art project. Can't wait to see the parade this year. cheers keep up the hard work.
This tour was a lot of fun! Took my teenage kids and my little grandkids, they had a blast. We learned about the history of the parade, how they build the floats, the clowns, the grand masters of the parade going back through history. We even got to see the new floats for this year's parade. No spoilers here. Lol
We had a wonderful gentleman as a guide that was SO knowledgeable and so very patient with my very questioning 3 years old grand daughter.
I can't recommend this tour enough weather you grew up watching the Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade or not.
This is just a good time.
Oh, and everyone gets a free clown nose!!!
This was an amazing tour! It was obvious our guide, Rochelle, loves her job! I will see the parade in a whole new way 🙂 …
I like to go to the Parade Company and take the tour because it is so much fun. Each year they work with the Michigan Thanksgiving Parade Foundation to put on ‘America’s Thanksgiving Parade’. During the rest of the year you can go and visit the location where the floats and other items are stored. It is a dazzling array of figures and figurines along with masks and caricatures of the famous and sometimes infamous. It is a great trip for the entire family or if you have guests or business clients visiting. I enjoy the special events they have where you can work on the floats and learn new artistic skills.
